William's Vintage Toy Party

We love it when someone has an idea for a theme that we haven't thought of before!  That was the case when we had the opportunity to plan a 4th birthday party for a sweet little boy named William.

William's mother had an incredible collection of 
vintage toys, and she came to us with the adorable idea 
of a "Vintage Toy" themed party and we ran with it!

The party was held at Lakeway City Park under their pavilion, 

which proved to be the perfect place for the event.

We used primary colors, vintage style fabrics and 
alphabet flashcards to set the tone for the party.

I made the

blocks out of packing boxes, colored 
card stock & 
duck tape. 
It was a 
really long
process, but
I was so 

happy with 
the way they 
turned out.

We set up our own version of a vintage candy shop, complete with vintage style candies for the guest to stock up on.  To finish out the look we used a vintage tricycle and desk, adorned with a big "W" for the guest of honor!  The table was a great focal point for the event.

Here is a closer look at our 

Candy Shop!

We set up various 50's and 60's styled children's games on the back portion of the pavilion and used some of our pinwheels attached 
to the railing to add some additional color. The kids enjoyed 
being able to bounce from one activity to the next!

For the tables we used various fabric runners, 
 over kraft paper table coverings.

We set out some vintage toys and crayons for the guest to play 
with and personalize their space.  The centerpieces included marbles, jax, pinwheels and mini gum ball machines 
filled with jellybeans that served as party favors.

We made banners out of the coordinating fabrics and the 
vintage style alphabet flashcards, that we strung up 
around the perimeter of the pavilion. The picture doesn't do them justice, it was a little windy and hard to get a really clear 
shot, but was one of my favorite elements of the event design.

We had a great time planning this party with

William's mother and expanding our repertoire.

We look forward to celebrating with them in the future.
