We had the opportunity to help
a super sweet little boy named
Hayden celebrate his 2nd birthday
with a "Mickey Mouse" themed
breakfast at the Park!
We used the classic "Mickey Mouse" colors of black, red and yellow along with that famous silhouette to set the tone for the party design and decorations.
As you walked into the pavilion we hung a banner with the birthday boy's name written on "Mickey" shaped card stock cutouts. We separated the letters with yellow, black and red fabric along with coordinating rick-rack trim to complete the look. It was a small detail of the design, but one we got a lot of compliments on!
If you're not familiar with the phrase on the sign, it was part of the original "Mickey Mouse Club" theme song from the 1950's television show. I thought it was the perfect way to greet Hayden's guests as they came into the party.
The chalkboard art proved a bit tricky, but I was pretty pleased with the end result!
(I saw a similar chalkboard on Pinterest and wish I knew who to credit the original design idea to. Sorry about that.)
All the children received "Mickey Mouse" ears as a party favor.
They were in the red bucket, although you can't really see them from this angle.
The kiddos looked so cute in their matching ears! I think the favors were a hit.
We had seven of these paper lanterns strung up from the rafters in the pavilion.
I started with white paper lanterns and over the course of a few evenings, numerous bottles of paint (and a glass or two of wine) turned them into Mickey!
There was a full spread of breakfast foods for the guests to enjoy
and then (of course) there was the cake! Yum!
We had really cute centerpieces and tons of coordinating pictures of the birthday boy and his family members lining the tables, but unfortunately the wind wasn't our friend that morning. We even went hunting for rocks to help keep the items in place. When I say it was windy, that's putting it lightly. We had a hard time keeping the table runners from flying off (even with the items still on top of them). I included a few pictures so you can get the idea though :)
This party was such a fun way to start the weekend.
The food was fantastic, the guests all seemed to
enjoy themselves, the Birthday Boy was happy- and we
were pleased as punch to have been asked to help out!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Hayden! We can't wait until next year!
